True Meaning of Christmas? So What?

(That kid is wearing an "I Love Santa" Shirt)

During this Christmas time it's easy to say let's remember the true meaning of Christmas.  It's also easy to say I'm going to make a watchable Transformers movie.  And we all know how much of a disaster that was.

Yeah yeah Conrad the "true meaning" of Christmas is the gift of Christ and not material things like iPods, DVDs and handguns.

But so what?  You know that.  Great. Now what?  What do you do with that?

Christians go around thinking they know the true meaning of Christmas, but go to Christmas shopping and act like everyone else.  "Man, these other shoppers are idiots, this traffic sucks, that cashier looks like they just ate a whole family."

The true meaning of Christmas isn't knowing that it's about Christ.  The true meaning of Christmas is living like Christ.

So when you do you last-minute shopping, act like Christ.

Show grace to all the shoppers.  Hold the door open for others.  Allow people to go in front of you in line.

Show love to the cashier.  Smile at them.  Try to make the two minutes with them the best two minutes they had during their entire work day.

Forgive all the idiot shoppers as they block the aisle with their shopping cart as their stare blankly into space.

During this season, let's not just remember what Christmas is about, let's live it.

LK 23:32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. [33] When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals--one on his right, the other on his left. [34] Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

Take time to pray right now: Pray for help to live like Christ.

Today's Fruit of the Spirit to work on: Whatever fruit you need according to the situation as you are shopping (love, patience, self-control)
