Sorry, I'm a bit late on this one. Anyways, the person I ranked as the best performance last week got kicked off. I can understand it a bit, but I thought she was unique enough to last really far. But whatever, she'll be fine.
Ramiele singing Heart's "Alone". Okay, so it's a really hard song. She needs to show off her upper register. Apparently she's sick. Well the lower part she's got great tone, but she's off a bit. Let's see if she can show off her upper range. She doesn't sound comfortable. Oops, she didn't quite hit that first big note. Um, great song that ended pretty boring and messy. Grade C+.
Dreadlocks singing Sting's "Fragile". Again, he's got a nice voice. He's a totally different type of singer that we've ever seen on Idol. He sound good, but this song doesn't really grab me. It's a little too obscure. A bit boring. Grade B-.
Syesha singing "If I Were Your Woman" by who cares. She's starting off okay. It's not really connecting with me. It's fine, but nothing special. She technically hit the notes, but there wasn't anything else to it. It's the best she's sounded, but it was just okay. Grade B.
Chikezie singing "If Only For One Night" by I have no idea. It's a ballad. Ten seconds into it and I'm bored to tears. His pitch isn't bad, but it's just not doing anything. So bored. So bored. Grade B-.
Brooke White singing The Police's "Every Breath You Take." This girl totally understands that you have to pick good recognizable songs. Oops, she screwed up the beginning and started again, but she did it like a pro and moved on. She's at the piano. This is starting out really good. It's just her and the piano. See this grabs you even though she's not the best singer. Uh, the drums just kicked in and ruined the feel of the song. It was nice and intimate, and then it turned into a half ballad half rock song. Grade B.
Michael Johns singing We Will Rock You/We are the Champions by you better know who. Uh, he's actually singing it really well. He's always been a mediocre singer to me. Uh, wow his tone on some of these notes are really nice. Just a couple minor flubs, but he did it really well. Grade B+.
Carly singing Total Eclipse of the Heart. Ha, this song is one of the cheesiest songs ever. There's no way this is gonna be great. I don't know what she's trying to do here. She's going for the power-almost-rock singer. Oh, that ending was bad. It looks like she thought she did great. Grade C+.
David Archiletto singing the goofiest song ever. Ew. This is a mess. His pitch his everywhere - AND this song totally sucks. He's reinforcing my theory that he can't sing anything other than ballads. I can't watch this. Grade C.
Kristy Lee Cook singing "God Bless the USA". Uh, this is brilliant choice. This will force people to pay attention to her. Whoa, she sounds great low. Her tone is great. The song only goes up slightly but it sounds bigger, so this will really work for her cause it's really easy to sing. Oh, key change. But it's still in her range. She sounds really comfortable singing this. Whoa, she nailed all the big notes. Did I just compliment her more than everyone else? Grade B.
David Cook singing Chris Cornell's version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. This could go either way, it could be brilliant if it works. Oh, this is gonna work, the whole feel is cool. It's starting off soft, but it's gonna totally rock out I bet in a big power ballad kinda way. It's in 3/4 time too. This is totally working. Oh, he's going for a big note, and it glided up. It was really good. I totally payed attention to that performance. Grade B+.
