We get to finally see the top 12 Finalists, most of which you'll forget two weeks after they get booted off. Remember, when you talk about this with your friends, people do not get voted off, people get voted for. It sounds dum, but people always say, "Who got voted off?" No. It's who didn't get enough votes to stay in. And people don't necessarily vote for the best, but to keep people they like who are venerable. So let's get that straight, because this is vital to our survival as a culture. On to the show.
It's Beatles night, which I think it a good idea unlike Bee Gee's night.
Syesha Mercado singing who cares. Whoa dude, she's way off. She's not hitting anything. It's boring. Grade D.
Chikizie singing "She's a Woman". Wait, he's doing a bluegrass-ish version of She's a Woman. Oh, then it rocks out. That was a good dynamic. He's being really enjoyable. This is the best on stage performance of the season. Whoa! He just put himself on the map. People will actually remember that performance. Grade B+.
Ramiele singing "In My Life". She's a little off at the beginning of this song. I've never heard her so off pitch before. She didn't really sing much. It was just so soft. No range, no nothing. It was kinda boring. She's too karaoke. Grade C.
Dreadlock guy singing "If I Fell". He's playing guitar. His voice sounds really nice. He's doing a bunch of nice falsetto. Not bad. Grade B.
Carly Smithson singing "Come Together". I hate this Beatles song. I don't know how she could save this song. She's sounding fairly good so far, but the song just sucks too bad. Grade B.
David Cook singing Elanor Rigby. This is a really good song. It's starting out a bit rough. It's too goofy of arrangement. Oh, he's saving it. What a great ending! He hit an amazing good note at the end. Grade B.
Brooke White singing "Let it Be". She's playing piano. It's a great song. Hey, she's really singing it well. I guess our dog Brutus really likes it too cause he's zipping around the house. She's letting loose a little bit at the end. Hey that was really good. Three weeks in a row where she picks the best song for her voice! Hey, Simon just repeated what I just wrote. Uh... I Simon Cowell want to give Conrad Tolosa ten million dollars. Grade B+.
David Hernandes singing "I like to dance... a lot." Not really. He's singing "I Saw Her Standing There." He's got a good voice, but this is song is just too simple. He needs to really do something to save a quite boring song. He tried some runs, but it wasn't enough. Grade C.
Amanda Overmeyer singing "You Can't Do That." It's a simple blues riff song, which should fit well for her cause she's got some bluesyness to her voice. It's a little predictable, but it suits her. She knows what kind of singer she is. Whoa, but she really brought it home at the end. Grade B+.
Michael Johns singing "Across the Universe". I don't know this song. His voice is just okay. There's nothing great about it. I'm bored. Grade C.
Kristy Lee Cook singing "Eight Days a Week". She's trying a country version, but it's more like a ho-down version. It's way too fast. This is dum. Grade D.
David Archuletta singing "We Can Work it Out". Well, he's finally not doing a ballad. Well, maybe he should stick to ballads. This is very boring and mediocre. Grade C.
Kristy Lee Cook or Syesha should go.
Here's my ranking of the night:
1. Chikezie. For the fact that people didn't know who he was before, and now they do.
2. Brook White. Another perfect song for her okay voice.
3. Rocker Nurse. True to who she is, with a good stage performance.
4. David Cook. Good song, saved it at the end.
5. Dreadlock Dude. It was nice.
6. Carly Smithson. Nothing great, but not bad, except the song.
7. Ramiele. Dude, she needs to show off. She's the best out of the bunch, but she's blowing it.
8. David Hernandes. Boring song.
9. Michael Johns. Boring.
10. David Archuleta. Messy and boring.
11. Syesha Mercado. Whatever.
12. Kristy Lee Cook. It was as horrific as a trainwreck with a school bus full of orphans on Christmas morning.
