week synopsis so far. 5.25 on Monday. 5.45 on Tuesday. Wednesday morning I went out, knowing I wouldn't be able to run on Thursday. I got down to the trail (via running) and it's like my body just shut down. So as much as I didn't want to stop, I did. Instead, Wednesday night my friend and I took a leisurely bike ride.
IT IS HOT HERE. And I hate running in the heat. So i woke up at 5:30 this morning, hoping to beat some of it, and I think i did. My temp thing on my computer says it's 56 degrees right now, but I swear it's way warmer. Although, down in the wooded, creek-ed trail it was about ten degrees cooler. Still- I was super hot.

I ran a 5K after work today and placed 1st in my age group (with an 18:29!)... And 2nd overall, by like 6 seconds!! The dude passed me at the final stretch... So I'm a bit bummed I didn't win, but I got a $25 gift card to Friday's nonetheless...

I only ran three times this week... But this morning (more like, just a few minutes ago) I ran my arduous 10M route through four towns (with the crazy [for Jersey] hills)... So I think I'm all caught up now.

lower case 'm' is the abbreviation for meter. however, M, is not widely accepted as an abbreviation for mile. In the United States, the National Institute of Standards and Technology now uses and recommends 'mi'.

man. i'm in mexico, and on the weekdays, to be able to fit in a decent length run I have to get up at 5am. This morning the alarm went off at 5 and i laid there until 5:20. guhhhh. i'm tahrd.
also, I've been really, really slow on my runs, which is kinda sad. I really don't know why, since I'm running at the same, or lower, elevation as home, the same distance, etc. I think it's just a nutrition/hydration thing or that I'm just so tired when I get up in the morning. Who knows. I'm trying to knock off fifteen seconds each morning from the same distance and have so far been successfully (this morning. ha!) so I think I'm just going to run the same distance for a few days until I knock it back down again.

Ah, that sucks... But eh, we all have "sucky runs". No shame in that.
Fortunately for me though, this morning didn't bring out one of mine. The official results posted not too long ago, and I ended up placing 15th out of a total of 552 runners.
Here's a few shots of me at the awards ceremony afterwards:
(shortly after receiving my medal)
(with other age group winners in my running club)
(with my buddy Paul... They call us the "Essex young bloods", since we're the only two members of the club under 30 [so far])
