Snow Patrol-A Hundred Million Suns
Copeland- You Are My Sunshine
Atmosphere- When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That **** Gold

I have only heard the song "The Grey Man" from the Copeland CD, so I bought mostly cause it was cheap at bestbuy.com and cause the last CD was really good. I have not heard a single song from the Snow Patrol CD yet, but I loved the last two, so I'm pretty confident its good. The Atmosphere CD is one of the best CDs this year, so I'm glad I actually have it.

Nice CDs (I really like the Nashville Tennis EP that comes with the Bee Sides) and Janelle is really awesome. I'd love to see one of her concerts.

Is the new Emery CD better than the last one? I found I'm Only a Man to be a dramatic step backwards for them. In fact it seems like each release since their first one is progressively worse than the one before it. I love Weak's End, The Question has it's moments and I'm Only a Man is just bad. The new EP any better?

got these free from work (so no complaints here):

David Crowder - Illuminate
PFR - The Late, Great PFR (pre-release)
Ragamuffin Band - Prayers of a Ragamuffin Band
John Reuben - Are We There Yet? (pre-release)
One Way: The Songs of Larry Norman
Guardian - Bottle Rocket (pre-release)

I never really listened to PFR before, but that might just be the score of the lot. A great collection of songs. Of course, the John Reuben is worthwhile for "Do Not" as a piece of nostalgia, and David Crowder is always respectable. The One Way cd looks like a load of crap, but I'll give it a spin.

I've listened through the EP about 10 times so far and am really enjoying it.

With that being said, "I'm Only a Man" is my favorite album of theirs and one of my favorite albums of all time.

I bought "The Weak's End" when it came out and have never been able to get into it. I found most of the tracks pretty boring. There was a HUGE improvement with "The Question" which is a stronger album in my opinion than "I'm Only a Man" but it's not my favorite of theirs.

Great catch and great selection of songs. The tracks recorded specifically for that collection are pretty awesome. If you enjoy it, I'd suggest picking up all of their albums used on Amazon or something.

Every album of theirs is amazing. I'll send you mp3's if you'd like. They were one of my favorite bands when I was younger.

My opinion is more in line with beef's here. The new EP shows improvement, though, and it's worth picking up. And by the notes in the booklet, apparently a lot of people still think Emery = Walls, but they would be selling out by just writing Walls a thousand times. I appreciate that they aren't content just staying in one place with their music.

I think that each of Emery's albums have gone more and more commercial in it's overall sound (as though they were touring too much with Hawthorne Heights or something). I think they are better musicians than that band, but I also feel like their music is getting less subtle and intricate and has become all about a catchy chorus. Yet, the chorus comes and it's stale. I also feel like the lyrics are more immature, like they decided to make their music for junior high kids (since they're pretty squarely in the CCM market, it's very possible that they really are trying this).

Anberlin's last couple records have felt the same way. Cities had "The Unwinding Cable Car," and "Godspeed," which were both cool, but the rest just got old real quick.

The new Anberlin is better than Cities. Maybe like a slightly more polished, more even-keeled Never Take Friendship Personal. I'm still quite partial to Blueprints, but New Surrender may be their best output since. Really, though, you should go out and buy Mono & World's End Girlfriend - Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain instead.
