(Project 86)

Salutations my dear friends.  Welcome back to Music Update!

It has been said that the greatest measure of a band is how they perform live.  I agree.  So when I heard Project 86 was working on a live album, I was more then stoked.  The album spans 15 years of the bands hits all recorded live!  The release date is December 14, and they already have 3 songs posted on their myspace so go check them out -> Project 86′s Myspace.

With the economy in the toilets, making quality indie music is harder then ever.  Joining record labels can be creatively restricting and bind you to the label’s control for years, but financing your own music is expensive stuff.  Alas dear readers there is still a glimmer of hope (aka the fans).  This mighty force of faithful followers is the lifeblood of a long career in the music world.  Without their verbal and financial support many bands would cease to be.  So sometimes a band will fall back on this support and ask for a little money.  Bands before (Showbread most recently) have done it successfully and now Lovedrug and Falling Up are taking up the trend.  Knowing your pockets may be as empty as their own, both bands have created a reward system to honor fans for their generosity.  Now all they ask is are you the lifeblood?  Click here learn more and support Lovedrug -> Lovedrug On Pledge Music and click here for Falling Up -> Falling Up On Kick Starter.

New this week we have Poema sharing a little warmth this winter in “Wool Coats”.  The new band, featuring two original members of the popular metal band Killswitch Engage, Times Of Grace reminds us we need each to survive because there is “Strength In Numbers”.  Last but not least Showbread declares there is a life after death in “You’re Like A Taxi”.

Fini.  Stop.  Done.  Complete.

Thanks for tuning in folks!  Have a nice day.  Sincerely yours, Toby
