Joy Electric has a new song up called My Grandfather the Cubist. My grandfather was spherical. He didn't get along with cubists or those darn rhombists. Rhombists think they're so cool. Okay, that was totally dum.
Here's Divebomber from our show on this past Saturday. A couple points of note - our kids are 15 and 13. Jordan's classmate is also 15 and he plays bass for us. His name is Cullen. He's really good. Victoria sings a couple lines by herself. It's cute. Could you imagine being in a band with your mom? In related news, we have a show this Saturday as well. Showbread has got a new song up. In related news, I don't like eating bread without meat, like hamburgers or hotdogs. I typically tear off the excess bread. People tell me I'm shallow. But then I tell them they are judgmental. Then they tell me I'm judgmental. Then we all ask for forgiveness and feed the excess bread to homeless children.
Here's a pretty good video and song. It's an animated video, nothing crazy, but it fits the song. I'm not sure what the classic crime would be. But it probably has something to do with letting your dogs poop in other people's yards. Specifically two Great Danes and a Rottweiler. More specifically a black Great Dane named "Zoe" and a brown one that I don't know the name of and a black Rottweiler. You might not think it's much of a crime, but then you don't have to mow my lawn, do you?
I always knew clowns were evil. I'm not sure why clowns are hired for children birthday parties. They're absolutely frightening. I guess the rational is that if you're a parent and you hate your kid's friends, you hire a clown for his birthday party so that his friends will relate him to a feeling of grotesque horror and stay away from him forever. Which is probably good because your kid's friends probably listen to Hanna Montana and the Jonas Brothers.
Writ on Water has taken on a sound that is reminiscent of early 90’s shoegazer bands, such as Slowdive, and 80’s indie darlings, The Cocteau Twins. The lush ‘A Midsummer Wish’ and ‘Last Night of Her Sleep’ are immensely rewarding instrumental tracks that give you reason to go back and listen to the song over and over again as you discover something new each time. ’Ancestor’ is a mixture of driving guitars and haunting vocals that dare the listener to not hit repeat and could not possibly be forgotten as this song simply begs for radio attention.
Wow, I really liked this video. It's serious and silly at the same time. The Myriad is a group of hunters in a magic wood with weird creatures who agree to a certain task. I don't want to spoil it for you, but the creature turns out to be the lead singer's father who is actually dead during the whole video and the entire environment is a computer generated dream piped into the humans' brains so they can be used for energy.
Slick Shoes is back with their original lineup. I toured with these guys back in '97. I think Jackson left right after that, so 11 years later. Man, 11 years is a long time. Ryan (the singer's mom) was the one who drove them on that tour (along with the bassist, Jeremiah). That was the tour my girlfriend broke up with me over a payphone at a Denny's in Texas. Jeremiah was the only one who was up at the time, so I talked to him about it. Man, that seems like a lifetime ago. But anyways, it's nice to see these guys together again, even if it just over youtube.
Oh, Sleeper just got a bunch of stuff stolen on the road. Here's their latest video. Lots of yelling and fast guitar parts. Oh, and goat heads. This video kinda reminds me of the last time my family and I ate at Old Country Buffett.

Tooth and Nail has these sub-labels like Solid State. They created one for non-Christian stuff like Presidents of the USA. The sub-label is called Fugitive. In other news, I just ate secular pizza from Papa Johns.
Well there's no yelling or chugga-chugga breakdowns so you kids might not like this one. It's power ballad all the way through. And I'm not so sure about this video, but if you get bored, you can watch this other one with Episode III footage instead. That is if you like getting upset about the demise of Star Wars and the overuse of CG.
Jon Foreman of Switchfoot just released his 3rd of four planned EPs. This one is Spring, which follows his Fall and Winter EPs. I'll give you one guess to what the last EP is going to be called. Correct, it'll be called, "I Got Phat Skilz Ungh Yeah!".

"I'm really amped to get these tunes out there. For a few reasons, spring was the hardest season to finish. I wanted to tie it in with fall and winter and yet make it distinct You can tell me whether we made it or not!"
The lead singer of Boston died a bit ago and for the tribute concert for him the Boston guys got Michael Sweet of Stryper to sing for the concert. Apparently they really liked it cause now he's going on tour as their singer.
Here's a VH1 concert with a couple Boston guys with Stryper. The first few "take a look ahead" parts are a bit rough, but whatever, you get the idea. The first real concert I went to was a Stryper concert in 9th grade. I got a Tim Gains pick, which I still have. I also have a Stryper Bible. Which of course makes me the best Christian around.
