There are only two types of good music that have come from Washington D.C. DC Hardcore, which includes such great bands as Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Dag Nasty and Swiz. The other music genre is rather broad but it would be DC post-punk or emo and this would include such great bands as Fugazi, Sonic Youth, Rites Of Spring, Q Not U and Jawbox. A Day In Black And White comes from Washington D.C. and have done their part to fall right in line with their great post-punk peers. They have done an amazing job of not only carrying on the tradition of great music from the DC area but also tapping right into the infectious dance rock that has been taking over the radio waves the past few years. They took off where Q Not U left off. At times it will get you moving and bobbing your head and at times it will get you to sing along and other times, sit back and relax. If you were a fan of ADIBAW previous work, you might be a tad confused. They have matured and changed a little but I don't think it's enough to kill their cornerstone fan base or their momentum. It's an extremely solid effort and if you are a fan of DC indie rock, you should really look into this album. It's another great release by Level Plane Records as well.
