Bitter Tongues take a mixture of Quicksand and Small Brown Bike and make it their own and they do an amazing job on the first three tracks of their EP, Clovis. Then they take a total nose dive and crash. It's crazy how an album could be so divided and so drastically different. The first three songs can't save this EP. The songs weren't even spread out to leave me hanging on through the whole album. The first three songs were very solid. They had a great sound and were a perfect blend of Quicksand and Small Brown Bike but then it all goes down hill when the songs go outside the structure and try to be harder and more experimental than they should be. I guess I'm not supposed to mess with Texas, but outside of Mineral/Pop Unknown/The Gloria Record, Texans are only good at executions, ranching, football and being arrogant.
