I decided to go with Blacklisted for my 100th review for Decapolis for two reasons. They are from my favorite city and former home, Philadelphia. They are also one of the best hardcore bands in the scene today. "We're Unstoppable" (Deathwish Inc.) is not a new album by Blacklisted but is a sort of combination or their past two releases. Tracks 1-6 are from their 2004 CDEP "Our Youth Is Wasted" on Stillborn Records and tracks 7-10 were released on their 2003 self-titled 7" on Walk All Night Records.
I was able to see Blacklisted at the Positive Numbers Festival last year and they were just amazing. From what I saw live and from what I hear on this album, they didn't lose much from the mosh floor to the recording studio. They have a raw passion that is great and draws me to them and their sound. It's extremely moshable and just downright dirty. The vocal style is sometimes a bit Refused-like and the music is totally for fans of bands like Madball, Slapshot, Champion and American Nightmare. Although the tracks from the 7" are really bad quality, they are still pretty good songs and the first six songs really carry the rest of the album. This is a very solid release.
