Casey Jones is back with their second release. They take a small detour off their sound and go for a more melodic poppy sound but it's still Casey Jones. They are still angry, confrontational, funny and proud to be straight edge. This album is quite enjoyable. It's not for every hardcore fan but at times I see myself singing along. At time I am laughing and at time I see myself saying, "These dudes need to calm down." I love the line "I am still edge!" It reminds me of the Earth Crisis song Gomorrah's Season End. I think Casey Jones, with a straight edge mentality, touches on a lot of key issues within the hardcore scene. They touch on the over use of fighting, sex, drugs and alcohol in the scene as well as being true to yourself and the things you claim as your beliefs. It's a pretty positive hardcore record in a negative way.
This Casey Jones album reminds me a lot of Stretch Arm Strong...well let me take that back, once good Stretch Arm Strong. God, where did that band go wrong? Anyway, back to Casey Jones. This album is a definite change from their last album, The Few, The Proud, The Crucial. It's a polished sound with a much better recording. It has pretty decent mosh part and good sing alongs. It will be a favorite this year of all those new school mosh friendly edge kids.
