It's extremely hard to review a three track ep, which is basically a teaser for an upcoming album, but I will try my hardest here. I fell in love with Crime In Stereo about two years ago when I saw them with Paint It Black in Reading, Pa. I loved everything about their sound and image. It's quit hardcore but it's not quite pop punk. They are very melodic and poppy but also bring that hardcore edge with them and all those things combined made a great new band. After three releases (one EP, a full length and a split with fellow Long Island, New York stars, Kill Your Idols), they switched to Nitro Records and started a new chapter in their punk rock lives.
Fuel. Transit. Sleep. EP is their first release on Nitro Records and is basically a three track teaser for their upcoming full length. If these three songs show us of what to expect from Crime In Stereo in the future, I will be a happy man. It's the same sound as before but a little less raw and more polished. It's all pretty rad. Although it's only three songs and I hate EP's, it's still pretty rad. It's really tight and fast but also poppy and melodic. If you are a fan of bands like Lifetime, The Movie Life and Gorilla Biscuits, you will probably love Crime In Stereo...wait for the full length. It will be totally righteous.
