When I want to know where the next big change in the hardcore genre is going to be, I usually don't have to look very far...it's usually on the East Coast and most of the time it's in Boston. It's an amazing place for some an amazing bands. There seems to be ground breaking music just waiting to explode all the time their. Embrace Today is from Boston and I guess they didn't get the memo. Don't get me wrong. They aren't a horrible band, they are actually good but they aren't doing anything that hasn't been done anymore. They play straight up metalcore. I found myself laughing here and there because it sounds like I hear Ray Cappo (better than a thousand, youth of today, shelter) throwing in one of his good old yells in here and there. It's very hard moshing chugga chugga music. Integrity meets Right Brigade and Hatebreed. Again, it's nothing all that original but it's not the usual run of the mill metalcore. The vocals are pretty decent and the lead singer doesn't sound like he is screaming into a tin can. One added bonus is that there isn't any high pitched wussy sing alongs.
