The punk scene is dead. The few punk bands left that get any type of attention end up buying into huge corporate record labels and bands that actually have something to say are passed over in the favor of bands that will only play what is popular at the moment. Even the once predominantly punk labels have stopped putting out punk if favor of trends and popularity of the moment.
There has been few bands with the power to make it huge, to actually stay underground and keep the music where it supposed to be but also keep the attitude and mindset of punk alive. One of those bands is New York's I Farm. They have been around for close to a decade now and have a number of releases under their belts and they still stay close to what punk is all about. I Farm's debut full length "So My Kids Won't Have To" was released on Creep Record in 1997 and now Creep Records sister label, Blackout! Records has reissued the debut. It's re-mastered and contains new artwork.
This is a huge plus for many punk rock purist. It is a chance for you to own one of the best pure punk albums of the late 90's and a wake up call for the second part of this decade. Although being almost ten years old, this album still has it all. It's fast, sarcastic, angry, simple and straight to the point. It's 19 songs of punk rock the way punk rock was supposed to be played. You won't find any pop routines here and you won't find some kid whining about his heart being broken, and you won't hear anything about cutting your wrists or blacking your eyes. This is for fans of NoFx, Kid Dynamite and Propaghandi. Punk Rock!
