What can I say about Kid Dynamite that hasn't been said a million times before? They are one of the most important bands in punk rock and hardcore of the past 10 years. They are one of the most important bands in my life. They took the punk rock and hardcore community by storm for a few years and as quickly as they exploded onto the scene, they evaporated from it. It honestly hurt when it happened. I really can only say that for very few bands that I have obsessed over, they are one of them. I was crushed at their break up. I was so crushed that I even refused to go to the last show. I later attended their reunion shows in Philly in 2003. They were one of the few bands that bridged the gap between punk and hardcore. I love them with all my heart.

Four Years In One Gulp was directed by former Kid Dynamite lead singer Jason Shevchuk (who is now in None More Black) and released by Jade Tree Records. It documents the bands entire existence. From the demo tape of the DAN YEMIN DANCER to the 2003 reunion shows. It is full of photos and twenty or so live performances. PLUS and extra six live songs from their CBGB's reunion show in 2005. The entire band gets involved in the DVD. They all were able to sit down together and discuss the ups and downs and they had some of the funniest stories I have ever heard of life on the road. The band also features interviews with members of Kill Your Idols, The Grey Area and various other fans. Tim Own and Darren Walters (co-owners of Jade Tree) also add their stories also. One of the best parts of the DVD are the interviews with the Kid Dynamite's roadies Dave Hause (The Curse, The Loved Ones and Paint It Black) and Collin Barth (Trail By Fire, Paint It Black and None More Black). They add the comic relief for the entire DVD.

The special features are pretty rad too. They feature three separate stories of life of the road that are just hilarious. From the story of Spider's (bass) glass eye, looking for Jimmy Hendrix's grave and stealing the Misfit's drummers jacket. There is also a pretty rad band commentary for the entire DVD but there is more! Dave Hause and Collin Barth got their own chance at commentary for the entire DVD. It had me rolling for over an hour.

This DVD is amazing! Even if you aren't a fan of Kid Dynamite, you will love this DVD. It shows you the true spirit behind punk and hardcore music and life in a band. It is by far the best DVD about a band that I have ever seen. I finally got to hear and see the whole story behind one of my all time favorite bands. It's a must have! It has everything you would ever want in a band DVD and stuff you wouldn't expect. PLUS, I am on the DVD during Heart A Tact at the reunion show. Amazing!
