Have you ever done something really stupid and when you were all done with it you asked yourself, "What did I just do?" Yeah that same question came across my mind after I got done listening to Kill Radio’s new album "Raised on Whipped Cream". I didn’t know what I was listening to. I thought they were an Anti-Flag rip off band with their first song "A.M.E.R.I.K.A" and then they turned route and turned into Incubus and then into some sort of jazz/funk/reggae romp. Oh yes, and don’t forget the totally radio friendly sound. This coming from a band that is totally against the popularity of the American radio system.

Kill Radio tries to inject their politics into their music which a lot of band do and that is fine but they really just sound political for the sake of being political because it’s popular at the moment. I don’t know these guys and I don’t know their backgrounds but if your going to throw your politics into the ring please have some sort of substance with it. As much as I don’t like Anti-Flag (because I don’t like their music it has nothing to do with their political stances) and their constant political barrage, they at least have something behind it and it isn’t a huge corporate label. It's hollow to me. It'll be hollow to you. It's not hollow in the scence of the new Yellowcard album which is void of any type of intelligent substance because I would rather listen to some kid whine about some girl he lost on Cherry Street or Ocean Avenue than listen to some other guy whine about politics without having anything intelligent to say. This is coming from a guy who lives and breathes politics...and I'm sure I have some of the same views as the members of Kill Radio but I don't like crap.
