On Broken Wings is another band trying to swim to the top of feces infested swimming pool known as the metalcore scene. It's humble opinion that they are only about halfway to the top. They aren't all that bad and maybe in another world where there would be only a handful of bands doing this style of music, they would be around the top but this is Earth and they are just mediocre on this sphere. There are some pretty good mosh parts here and it keeps this album a float. But guess what? Just like most of the other bands in this sewer, they decide to do the whole high pitch singing thing. This was perfected by bands like Hopesfall and Poison The Well and now it's just being killed. On Broken Wings does something smart though. They take the mentality that LESS IS MORE. They kicked the double bass action and metal solos down a notch and well with the singing. They shift a tad more to the mosh/hardcore side than the metal side and this my friend is a smart decision. It's still mediocre but it's not all that bad.
