Ryan's Hope will be a fresh new breath in the world of punk rock. They are a perfect mix of the straight forward punk rock sound of Bad Religion and the pop punk sense of The Descendants. You won't find any top 40 hits on here. You won't find all the 16 year old Fall Out Boy fans going nuts over them and you will never hear them called "emo". Ryan's Hope is probably not just what Chicago needs but the world of punk rock itself. They prove that punk rock can mix the world of mass appeal without sounding watered down and pathetic. Lyrically, you will find more intelligent and important words than the average "my girlfriend just broke up with me and I'm going to kill myself" pop punk band. The recording quality is amazing. It's not what I would expect from a fairly independent release. I also heard that the bassist is a huge IGNITE fan...as I am so they will always be cool in my book. They have also been listed at one of the 100 bands to watch in 2006 by Alternative Press. Not bad.
