Dear Conrad. One question I read about honoring thy father and mother its one of the commandments right well what if your parents lead you the wrong way like into sinning is that still a sin if you don't want to sin and they are sending you to. Would God still consider that a sin if you don't want to sin? -- Jenny
Good question. It will still be a sin. Basically it comes down to authority. God is like the commander-in-chief. If your sergeant orders you to do something that contradicts the commander-in-chief, you are required to disobey your sergeant in order to obey the commander-in-chief.
AC 5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men!
If a cop tells you to smoke crack, it’s still against the law.
EX 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
You can still honor them without agreeing with them. You can honor them in your attitude towards them. You can take what they say into consideration – and decide against it. You still respectfully decline their order to sin. Their disobedience to God is no excuse to treat them with disrespect.
