The Philippines is a third-world country and since churches run off of the givings of their congregation so churches in turn are poor. Our ministry writes and prints it's own materials (pastor training, teacher's workbooks, adult/teen/children workbooks, etc.) and provides these materials and training for the pastors and teachers for free.
These materials are use in churches, schools and day cares. One major focus is Bible Clubs. Most often, these children are not taken to church, so we take the church to them. Typically we hold a Bible club in a community on Saturday mornings. In this slideshow below, there is an example of one of these Bible Clubs.
About thirty children of the community come to a centralized location, in this case the teacher's house, and are taught from the curriculum we gave to them for free. Each child gets their own workbook. There is such a demand for the Bible Club that the teacher added two more days a week to hold the Bible Club!
As of the end of 2007, there were 180 participating pastors and 432 active certified teachers. We are ministering to 13,635 children and teens.
All this free training and materials have to be funded somehow. It is my hope that people from America can fund this ministry so it can expand without hindrance. You may not be able to physically spread the gospel to the ends of the earth, but with your donation you are nevertheless spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth.
