Julia Zulia
by Julia_Zulia; 01.10.04

Name:  Julia Zulia

Location:  Harrisburg, the State Capitol of Pennsylvania.  It's close to Hershey, where they make chocolate.  It's also very close to Three Mile Island, a nuclear power plant that almost had a meltdown in the late 70's.

Age:  29

Occupation that pays me:  Registered Nurse.  I have had poop thrown at me, have been peed on, thrown up on, and have been mistaken for a punching bag.  How I love my profession.

Musical influences:  Because of my parents, I grew up on Keith Green.  He would have to be the initial influence.  In 8th grade however, I saw The Cure perform 'Just Like Heaven' on an MTV video awards show and I was totally dumbfounded.  I've never been as taken by a band, as I have been with The Cure.

Favorite Band:  The Cure

Favorite Albums:  Disintegration--The Cure (above and beyond anything else), Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me--The Cure, White Light, White Heat, White Trash--Social Distortion, Alkaline Trio--Alkaline Trio, Ghoti Hook--Sumo Surprise

Favorite Male Vocalist:  Mike Patton

Favorite Female Vocalist:  Bjork

Musical Projects I'm in:  Currently in Divebomber since '00.  I play guitar, bass, and sing.  I've also performed in 'The Dark Forest--An Oratorio'.

In 5th grade, I performed in Central Dauphin School District's version of 'The Music Man'.  In 6th grade, I performed in The Dauphin County Chorus concert, and I was in the same row as a girl who fainted and fell off the bleachers.  In 7th-9th grade I was in East Jr. High's all girl group 'the Patriettes'.  Then I became anti-social and hated everyone until I graduated.  I'm okay now, and just hate minivans and bad drivers--and you seem to see the both of them together often.

Favorite Movies of all time:  The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The 'original' Star Wars Trilogy, Moulin Rouge, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kickboxer, Bloodsport

Favorite TV Shows of all time:  Carnivale, Law and Order, Homicide, X-Files, Full House, Little House on the Prarie
